Platform Engineer – Microsoft Fabric

We are now looking for an experienced Platform Engineer – Microsoft Fabric to help build and scale Microsoft Fabric as an enterprise data platform.

You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, data engineering, governance, and cloud, creating the foundations that allow teams across the organization to use Fabric securely and efficiently.

This is the right role for someone who wants to shape more than individual data solutions — and help build the platform, standards, and ways of working behind them.

About the role

As a Platform Engineer, you will take an important role in the rollout and adoption of Microsoft Fabric across a large organization.

You will design and implement the platform foundations around governance, security, workspaces, capacity management, CI/CD, and deployment. At the same time, this is a hands-on role where you will support PoCs, pilot initiatives, and new use cases with practical data engineering expertise.

You will collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, governance and security teams, as well as business stakeholders to turn Fabric into a scalable and well-governed enterprise platform.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement the Microsoft Fabric platform operating model

• Establish governance for workspaces, domains, tenants, and capacity

• Define security, RBAC, access management, and data protection patterns

• Build platform standards, guardrails, and reusable frameworks

• Establish CI/CD, source control, deployment pipelines, and release processes

• Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code where applicable

• Support teams and business units onboarding new use cases onto Fabric

• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines

• Contribute hands-on to PoCs, pilots, and complex data engineering solutions

• Collaborate with analytics, BI, and AI teams to enable end-to-end data products

What we’re looking for

You have a strong background in modern cloud data platforms and are comfortable combining platform-level thinking with hands-on engineering.

We believe you bring:

• Strong experience with modern cloud-based data platforms

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or the Microsoft data stack

• Experience designing governance and operating models for enterprise data platforms

• Strong understanding of workspace strategies, domains, capacity management, security, and data governance

• Experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD practices for data platforms

• Strong knowledge of source control, automated deployments, and release processes

• Experience working with Microsoft Azure

• Strong communication skills across both technical and business stakeholders

Nice to have

It is a plus if you have experience with:

• Microsoft Fabric administration and tenant settings

• Power BI governance and semantic models

• Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Databricks

• DataOps and platform engineering practices

• Driving platform adoption across larger organizations

• ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data modeling, and data integration

• Lakehouse architectures
