Senior Software / Data Engineer

You will work in a complex engineering environment where data is used to understand how work flows, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across teams.

About the role

As a Senior Software / Data Engineer, you will work at the intersection of data engineering, architecture, governance, and engineering performance.

You will analyze and visualize metrics, help teams understand flow and delivery challenges, and use data to support better decisions and more predictable ways of working.

The role also requires someone who can navigate a larger technical environment, understand development tooling and processes, and communicate complex findings clearly across engineering teams and leadership.

What you’ll do

• Work with data architecture and engineering in a complex software environment

• Analyze engineering and delivery metrics to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities

• Visualize data and communicate insights using tools such as Grafana

• Work with statistical forecasts and data-driven insights

• Support and improve data governance and compliance practices

• Work with backlog structures, including workflows, states, and epics

• Collaborate across engineering teams to improve processes and ways of working

• Present insights and flow challenges to both technical teams and leadership

• Drive adoption of improvements across teams without relying on formal authority

What we’re looking for

You have a senior background in data and software engineering and are comfortable combining technical depth with analysis and cross-team collaboration.

We believe you bring:

• Extensive experience within data architecture and data engineering

• Experience with compliance and data governance

• Strong ability to analyze metrics, visualize data, and interpret statistical forecasts

• Experience working with backlog tools and configuring workflows, states, and epics

• Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, and Artifactory

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex flow and data-related challenges

• Experience collaborating with and influencing multiple teams and stakeholders
