Systems Engineer / Design Release Engineer – Connected & Safety Systems
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer / Design Release Engineer to support the development of connected and safety-critical vehicle systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development, integration, and release of vehicle features within telematics, connectivity, emergency communication, and connected safety domains. You will work across multiple engineering disciplines and collaborate closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and development teams throughout the complete product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of vehicle systems and features from concept through SOP
Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, and performance targets
Drive system architecture, integration, validation, and release activities
Coordinate development across software, electrical, connectivity, diagnostics, and safety teams
Act as the technical interface towards suppliers and support technical deliverables
Support vehicle-level integration and cross-functional system alignment
Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
Track feature maturity, risks, and program execution activities
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Experience within automotive systems engineering, electrical systems, telematics, connectivity, or safety-related development
Experience delivering complete systems or vehicle functions through the product development lifecycle
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and system integration
Experience working with suppliers and technical stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills in English
Preferred Experience
Experience within one or more of the following areas is considered an advantage:
eCall, NG-eCall, ACN, or connected safety systems
Telematics Control Units (TCU), connectivity platforms, cellular communication, or GNSS/GPS
Crash detection systems, passive safety, or occupant protection systems
CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and automotive communication protocols
Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE
Automotive cybersecurity and connected vehicle architectures
Diagnostics, DTC strategies, and serviceability
OTA functionality and remote vehicle services
DOORS, Jama, Polarion, MBSE, or similar systems engineering tools
Validation, verification, certification, and production launch activities
