Senior Chassis & Ride Handling Engineer – US Relocation
Join us as a Senior Chassis & Ride Handling Engineer! Shape ride, handling, and performance for next-gen vehicles.
Open to Swedish citizens willing to relocate to the US, or candidates already located in or near San Francisco.
We’re looking for a passionate and highly skilled Senior Chassis / Ride & Handling Engineer to join a forward-thinking automotive team shaping the feel, comfort, and performance of next-generation vehicles. If you have hands-on experience in suspension design, ride tuning, and vehicle handling, this role is for you.
About the Role
As a Senior Chassis / Ride & Handling Engineer, you will focus on the real-world behavior of the vehicle, optimizing ride comfort, handling precision, and overall chassis performance. Unlike a broader vehicle dynamics role, this position emphasizes hands-on tuning, suspension system design, and correlation between test data and simulation models.
You will work closely with Vehicle Dynamics, controls, and simulation teams to translate theoretical models into real vehicle performance, ensuring the ultimate driving experience.
What You’ll Do
Design, optimize, and validate suspension systems, kinematics, and damping strategies.
Perform ride, handling, and comfort evaluations through simulations and real-world vehicle tests.
Collaborate with vehicle dynamics and control teams to ensure seamless integration of chassis systems.
Analyze and improve tire behavior and suspension interactions to enhance driver experience.
Conduct vehicle testing, tuning, and correlation between test data and simulations.
Influence engineering decisions on chassis hardware, system-level architecture, and performance targets.
What We’re Looking For
5–10+ years of experience in chassis engineering, ride & handling, or suspension systems.
Strong practical knowledge of:
Suspension kinematics and dynamics
Ride comfort, handling, and NVH optimization
Tire behavior and real-world performance testing
Hands-on experience with tools such as:
MATLAB / Simulink
Adams, CarMaker, or equivalent simulation tools
Proven experience from an OEM or Tier 1 automotive environment
Ability to turn simulation results into real vehicle performance improvements
Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus)
Nice to Have
PhD or advanced academic background in mechanical or automotive engineering
Experience with ADAS integration or autonomous driving systems
Exposure to embedded systems and control algorithms for chassis
Location & Relocation
Open to candidates based in Sweden willing to relocate to the US (San Francisco Bay Area)
Candidates already located in or near San Francisco are also encouraged to apply
